Who's at the Table

We're Brian and Alicia. We both spent more than fifteen years working in restaurants, and we've been wine tasting for over twenty. So when we travel, we notice what makes or breaks a meal: the service, the kitchen, the wine list, the person behind the bar.

We travel off-season on purpose. Fewer crowds means more room at the table and more time with the people who live there. Some of our best nights started at a door nobody told us about.

Everything here is ours. Our stories, our photos, our opinions. It won't always be perfect, because we aren't. Some photos are a little crooked, some plans fall apart, and sometimes we order wrong. We'd rather tell it the way it happened.

We're also gearing up to live abroad. Where we land, and how we get there, will find its way into these pages. We'd love for you to come along.
